make your mark

i'm pretty positive one of these personalized stamps would only increase my excitement and love of stationary and sending snail mail.
when the excitement of the summer settles down a little bit and
I have some free time, I'm hoping to get into some crafting and DIY projects - including making my own stationary! (...and finally getting around to making that headboard of ours!)

birthdays

i am someone who believes that birthdays are days to be celebrated. i think it is important to make people feel special and loved on their birthday. i always try to do something nice for those people i care about most. even if it's a card - it reminds that person that you remembered today is about them!
a close friend's birthday is today so i took her out to pizza libretto last night. we drank wine and chatted over pizza. and the kind waiter overheard me mention it was her birthday and brought a little candle with dessert. such a sweet gesture! (ps. their tiramisu is to die for)

presents don't have to be grand, it's the thought that counts. i encourage you to celebrate and make the most of birthdays!

my little splurge

my first polka-dot purchase...

make-up case

if only i had some spare pennies to splurge on this beautiful make-up case. perfect for traveling and ideal for my organized personality. pretty much everything on the smythson website is lust worthy...

20 x 200

i think this is just about the coolest idea... artists design prints that are produced in collections of 2oo, and they sell for $20 per print. brilliant, right? with a mother who was in the art and framing business, the idea of a semi-limited edition print for $20 is so neat! and there are so many different designs, subject matter, colors.

when d and i get our own place i will definitely be checking out 20x200!

hatch collection

i am so NOT pregnant, but i am completely obsessed with hatch collection. simple, feel good clothing. when unemployment isn't such a close and looming reality, i plan on making a purchase! (and bookmarking the website for a day, very far in the future, when i will have a bun in the oven! :)

do this

it's sometimes hard, but try to always appreciate the little things and keep it simple.

just because

t-shirts

in my master plan of packing a backpack filled with colors that can be mixed and matched, i was on the hunt for a black and a white t-shirt. my search ended earlier this week at club monaco. cb is easily one of the stores that if i had to pick one store to shop at for the rest of my life, it would probably make the top five list...

that being said i wasn't surprised that i found something i wanted to take home. in shopping for clothing i always look for belongings that i feel good wearing. the fabric of these t's is silky and soft and fits that requirement perfectly.

i got black in a size smaller than white for a little bit of different looks. the neckline falls in a comfortable spot, the pocket is a cute little detail and while the price point was a little bit high at $40 each, i am very pleased with my findings. maybe not the most practical choice, but fashion just sometimes has to trump other more functional choices...

also, side note... when i wanted to share my t-shirt purchases i was somewhat shocked to find that club monaco doesn't have a website! who knew?!

hoppy easter

birds nest cupcakes

given the final result, decorating fifty of these little suckers was definitely worth it... the cake wasn't too sweet and the icing combined with the coconut made for a delightful easter treat.

martha, your recipes aren't the easiest, but there's no denying that the end results are worth the work. recipe here
