We're fresh off a weekend love affair with New York City. We had a wonderful trip and I'll share our trip over the next couple of days in day-by-day photo blogs.
We tried to enjoy the city as locals do, we had some very tasty meals, cocktail fueled nights out, and even managed to squeeze in some shopping :) The only hard thing about leaving NYC is that there's always so much left to do - luckily it's just a short flight away.
We started Friday morning off with a delicious brunch at Buvette. It's a little slice of Paris dropped right into the middle of the Lower East Side. The food was simple, fresh - a truly amazing meal. And of course, as every vacation should begin, we started the morning off with mimosas - with fresh squeezed orange juice (so fresh, there were seeds in our glasses).
{ Katie flew in from Halifax and Corey was a wonderful host }
We spent the afternoon shopping in Soho (I have to say the boys weren't actually as bored as they look). Didn't go too crazy but did induldge in the JCrew sale and splurged on a pair of navy Madewell flats.
Then ate another amazing meal for dinner at Bar Americain - Bobby Flay's NYC restaurant. I didn't get any photos but if you're ever in town they have the absolute tastiest moules et frites! Highly recommended - thanks for the suggestion Shelby!
We continued on after dinner to the Hudson Hotel. I had been previously for lunch and was even more impressed with their four different bars. We chatted over beer and wine in the Hudson Common Room while listening to old school hip-hop.
