Two of our best friends are visiting from Vancouver this summer and we've made plans to rendevous on Canoe Lake in Algonquin Park for a few days of dock side relaxing in July. The cottage has a sauna and my friend and I always geek out with beauty products each of us love, bringing samples for the other to try. We've both been wanting to try Frank Body Scrub and the cottage finally seems like a great opportunity. We will scrub down prior to suntanning and jump in the lake to rinse off. I've ordered the original, coconut and peppermint - so we will see which we end up loving most.

I'd love to know, do you have any natural beauty products or regiments that you swear by?

I recently read an excerpt from a speech that suggested we forget about being 'likable'. It resonated with me, as there's no doubt I sometimes worry about how I am perceived and have my moments of questioning how well liked I am.

I was inspired by the thought of being true to yourself and thriving on being surrounded by people who embrace you for your honest self.

Am I ever glad to see the weekend. It's been a busy week and I'm so looking forward to weekend strolls to the coffee shop after seriously late sleep ins. I'm celebrating a close friends engagement tomorrow and I'm so excited to hear the details of the proposal and drink prossecco with my girlfriends. The stress of the week was offset with a surprise delivery of flowers and a home cooked meal with D. What do you have planned this weekend? If you're looking for something to do, there are some fun workout classes being hosted by Nike being held throughout the city and I think there are still some openings!

When it comes to summer shoes, I tend to be pretty hard on them. Bike pedals are not surprisingly pretty brutal on shoes and I ride my bike pretty much every sunny day of the summer. These Forever 21 options leave me with all the styles of the summer without breaking the bank.  I'd love them all!

easy pineapple popsicles

With the hot summer heat and humidity soon beginning my anxiety about living in an air condition-less house has heightened just a little bit. One upside to no A/C is the summer long excuse to eat iced treats :) Because ice cream can't be a daily go-to I've got to get creative with other cool treats. Yesterday afternoon I cut up a pineapple and just blended it up with water and a little lime juice. The fruit turned into a frothy juice which poured easily into the popsicle moulds. A few hours later we enjoyed a refreshing and healthy iced treat! As easy as it gets.

Any fun plans for the weekend? D and I planned a date night early in the week to give me something to look forward to after a busy work week. We're going to check out Bar Fancy, have you tried it? I booked a massage for tomorrow morning and am looking forward to an hour of complete relaxation. My masseuse recently moved her practice to work from home and it is such a wonderfully calming space, I love visiting her! Saturday night we're heading up north for a cousins avocado themed birthday party (awesome right? we're bringing guac) and I'm hoping to make it to the St. Lawrence Market on Sunday.

I'm always tempted by the nail polish racks at the drug store and do my best to walk by with out adding to my collection. Temptation got the better of me last week and I picked up Essie 'Minimalistic'. It's light and florally and I cannot wait to wear it all summer long.
