black friday picks

Do you plan on looking for any great deals today? Or have you already gotten a start on your Black Friday shopping?! I ordered a few little things (a t-shirt with frills and black leotards) from J.Crew yesterday, (their sale claims 'even things that never go on sale are on sale') - how could I resist?

Here a few other items on my Black Friday wishlist... Happy shopping! xx

Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? We're celebrating American Thanksgiving tomorrow with friends. Then on Sunday we're heading north to see family and I get to meet my cousins new baby! I'm hoping to get a jump on writing my Christmas cards and hopefully get some more festive holiday decorations up around the house.

Whatever you have planned, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. xx

monogram ornaments

With the arrival of American Thanksgiving this weekend, it really feels like Christmas is just around the corner. In the past few years I've worked at getting an early jump on my holiday shopping so I can avoid the malls closer to the 25th and have time to really find great gifts. Each year one of my favorite gifts to search out are tree ornaments. Every season, there are new creative and unique designs to choose from in different shops and I love searching for ornaments that suit friends personalities or that are personalized in some way. These yarn ornaments from Anthropologie with little bells are so sweet and I plan on gifting them to all our littlest family members, so they have something all their own to hang on the tree.

a winter bag

frog prince lipstick

This lipstick just shot to the top of my gift list for all my girlfriends. The super hydrating formula goes on green and the heat from your lips causes it to morph into a beautiful rosebud shade that is unique to your skin tone. Cool, right?! Shop the product here

photo diary: whistler & vancouver

We spent our final weekend in Whistler. We stayed in a hotel with a king sized bed, ate at some incredible restaurants, did some browsing in the lovely shops and spent almost all of our remaining time outdoors. My sister and her boyfriend are off to live in Australia for a year in a couple of weeks and I loved squeezing in a final visit. Here are a few photos if you care to see...

{ we spent our last night in Vancouver, catching up with friends over wine, oysters and fried chicken at Chewies. The food was delicious, and was only topped by the wonderful company. It was the perfect way to end our trip }

After a weekend full of rest, I'm finally feeling like myself again. Vacation was so great but I left feeling like I had over indulged a little bit. We were on the West Coast for ten days and spent our time between Sechelt, Whistler and Vancouver. We spend everyday with family and friends and it was exactly the quality time we needed. Here are some photos from our time in Sechelt if you care to see...

bc brews

We enjoyed a bunch of awesome B.C beers while we were out West. We visited both Postmark Brewery and Howe Sound Brewery and sampled some of their varieties and also stuck to west coast options exclusively when shopping at the liquor store. I have yet to visit the LCBO to see what's available here, but I'm eagerly hoping we can continue to support B.C breweries from home!

I spotted this Snowcase at the Whistler liquor store - talk about an adult spin on a children classic - a beer advent calendar! Genius, just brilliant!
