first kiss
Have you watched this First Kiss video yet? It's recently gone viral and I think it's so sweet - the awkwardness, the passion - I love it. A very cool social experiment, even better that it was caught on tape.

california here we come
{ via }
Not to induce even more 'this winter sucks' envy, but we're off to California tonight! A friend is getting married in Santa Barbara on Saturday and then we'll drive to Palm Dessert to meet up with D's parents for a week. I visited California when I was much younger with my family but am really looking forward to returning for a fun adventure with D. We've rented a convertible and I'm giddy just thinking about driving down the coast on Sunday morning. At first the planner in me was trying to organize stopping points, but we've decided to just play it by ear and see where the week takes us. One place I can't help but hope we make it to is Joshua Tree National Park!
I plan on photographing the crap out of California - so many picture blogs to come once we return.
Have a great next ten days, see ya when we get back! xx

gift idea
I'm always on the look out for small gift ideas that I can pick up and put away for occasions where an extra little thought is needed. Wouldn't this little perfume roll on - in a beautiful case to boot - be the perfect present to cheer up a friend or celebrate a birthday?
#100happydays
I've noticed this hashtag on Instagram lately and decided to finally google it today. While I probably could have guessed - it's a fun challenge for yourself - to essentially stop and smell the roses. The website challenges you to take a picture of something that make you happy everyday for 100 days in a row and to post the photo using the hashtag #100happydays.
What do you think? Would you take part? Read up about #100happydays here.

vacation picks
I'm a big Joe Fresh fan and am so excited about the fact that they've recently started e-commerce. Although I shopped in store yesterday I love all the fun vacation pieces I came home with. I always find Joe such a reliable source for stylish, affordable fashion - definitely one of my favorites.

halifax market
After a delicious breakfast at Edna we took some time to walk off the food at the Halifax market. There were loads of yummy food stands, beautiful jewelry and original crafts to browse through - take a look at some of the creative stands!

halifax brunch: edna
I've come to the conclusion that I think it's impossible to have a bad time on the East Coast. This weekend in Halifax was spent catching up over great meals and I couldn't have asked for a better best friend rendezvous. We ate at the cutest restaurant called Edna for Saturday breakfast. After arriving late Friday night it was the best way to wake up and get the day started.
snacktime
{ popcorn }
When 2p.m. rolls around each day, I always seem to get a little hungry. I've eaten lunch but just want a little something to snack and nibble on as I work away at my desk. Lately my go-to has been popcorn. It's easy to share with the other ladies in my office, I'm not left feeling bloated and I don't feel too guilty snacking on it. I'd like to start popping my own at home flavoring with simple, natural ingredients but still need to figure out how to pop popcorn without a microwave... (!?) Any flavor combos you can suggest?
happy weekend xx
Do you have any fun plans this weekend? I'm flying to Halifax tomorrow night to see one of my closest friends. I can't wait for a weekend filled with girl time, white wine and giggles!
Oh and don't forget the Oscars are on Sunday night! I'm planning on watching a few more movies on the plane - I just rented Captain Phillips and Blue Jasmine.
If you're hosting an Academy Awards party here are some cute party ideas and here's some pretty fashion inspiration to get you excited for all the gowns.
I found the above photo today on my iPad as I was deleting some photos to make room to rent a movie. Europe was one of the best adventures of my life - it feels so long ago, yet I can still remember every detail about that night in Italy. I'm guess I'm just trying to focus on being so lucky to have such fond memories.
Whatever you're up to, have a relaxing weekend. xx
