nyc: sunday

Sunday was yet another sunny, warm day in the city and we made the most of the nice weather and spend the day adventuring through central park, walking the Highline and exploring the Meat Packing District.

We stopped in at Eataly to pick up picnic supplies before walking the Highline. Eataly is like an Italian New Yorkers version of Harrods - but all food. A great spot to stop in for lunch or a tasty snack. The Highline is the old elevated train track that has been beautifully re-designed into a walking path/park. It's in the meat packing district so the beauty is enhanced by the juxtaposition of the industrial warehouses surrounding it - it was definitely a "cool" touristy thing to do.

We were still stuffed from our picnic but Chelsea Market is a foodie's dream. Loads of little shops to duck into for meals, treats or snacks. Will surely have to go back for some taste testing next time we're in the city.

Couldn't leave New York without a famed black & white cookie! - and better yet, they were still warm!

Overall, it was a whirlwind of a weekend but we had such a wonderful trip. Thanks again to Corey for being such a great host and to Katie for flying down to meet us! We're thankful for such awesome friends. And as expected, I'm even more in love with New York City! Can't wait for our next visit.
