( a version of ) strawberry shortcake


We stopped by an Italian butcher/grocer last weekend and sort of went crazy buying all sorts of Italian foods and meats. And of course, I couldn't leave without some sort of treat, so we ended up with some Pizzelle. Last week I was craving something sweet after dinner and put this together with what we had in the fridge. It was so tasty and light and ended up looking quite pretty as well. All I did was combine fresh whipped cream, cut up strawberries and vanilla Pizzelle in a shortcake-like tower. D and I agreed it could be a lovely finish to a dinner party with friends.
